LEGO WeDo a Robotics System for Elementery Students

LEGO one of the toys company has introduced their new product, called WeDo. This robotic system will introduced for the elementary student. The LEGO WeDo will be package with 158 pairs of LEGO elements, also including gears, and levers. Inside the LEGO WeDo packaging we can get one LEGO USB Hub which can connect to Mac/PC laptop, desktop, OLPC XO or even Intel Classmate computer, it uses to control the hardware input and output. There’s also one motor, one emotion, and one tilt sensor, to make the robot life. The Drag‐and‐drop icon‐based software also inside the LEGO WeDo packaging. It also gives CD Rom which contains 24 hours instruction and also 12 activities of 4 themes such as, Amazing Mechanism, Wild Animals, Adventure Stories, and also Play Soccer. What an amazing toys for children education.

After Robot dragonfly “The DelFly Micro”, There Will Be “DelFly Nano”

Students of Technical University of Delft has finished their project of “the DelFly Micro”, a flying robot dragonfly. This four inches and a wingspan Robot dragonfly is able to identify objects and survive in a disaster area and also can fly as fast as a real dragonfly. It because of Robot dragonfly “The DelFly Micro” is completed with a tiny camera strapped upon its tiny wingspan that drived by a software.

The researches of Delft University said that this Robot “The DelFly Micro” Dragonfly are going to continue their study in next project of “DelFly Nano”, the next smallest dragonfly robot after “The DelFly Micro”. Let see what it is look like. And wait what next tiny animal robots they will be invented after this.



Hitachi has introduced their new robot EMIEW2

Hitachi has introduced their newest robot, called EMIEW2 (Excellent Mobility and Interactive Existence as Workmate). It is a smart robot that can detect the differences between three human voices simultaneously. That’s why it has 14 microphones on the head. The function of the recognition is as the result of sound source separation and sound pattern recognition. The sound source is to ignore the other side around the people who are talking and it makes the robot focuses with that person, and it can detect voices spoken till 2 m. The EMIEW2 is a robot with 80 cm of height, and 13 kgs of weighs. The robot can walk too, because it has two wheels under of its legs. Hitachi does not mention the price yet or when its available.



Feelix Growing Robots Can Show All Of The Human Expressions

European robotic experts have a new project called Feelix Growing Project. The experts will develop a robot which has all of the human expressions such as happy, angry, or even sad. The robot can show the expression because it has the artificial neutral networks which equipped inside the robot. It consists of camera and sensors which canhelp the robot to detect the emotion. Feelix Growing Project will built using ‘off-the-shelf’ parts, besides can shows the human expression its also can detect voices. Even it still under development, but maybe the robot from Feelix Growing Project can be a part of our lives.
